Travis Kelce has given Taylor Swift’s “Cleveland!” an enthusiastic hometown seal of approval.
During the Wednesday, Sept. 30, episode of New Heights, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end praised the new track, which pays tribute to the city where he and his brother, Jason Kelce, grew up.
“It’s a banger,” Travis declared. “Come on, man.”
Jason was equally taken with the song, revealing that it has already become a frequent listen for him and Kylie Kelce.
“That song is incredible,” Jason said. “Kylie and I listen to it so much. There’s just something about it, I love it.”
A Musical Boost for Cleveland
The brothers’ discussion of “Cleveland!” began as Travis celebrated the recent performances of sports teams based in his home state. He mentioned the Cincinnati Bearcats in college football and MLB’s Cleveland Guardians before turning his attention to Swift’s musical tribute.
“Cleveland is rocking right now!” Travis said. “Shout-out to Tay Tay for making that song, just giving the city a little more punch.”
“Cleveland!” was released Sept. 25 as one of four bonus tracks included on The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore. The expanded project also features “Patient Zero,” “Pink Skies” and “Babylon.” Together, the new songs continue the story of The Life of a Showgirl, which arrived in October 2025.
The original album spent 12 weeks at No. 1 on the main U.S. albums chart after opening with 4.002 million equivalent album units in the United States, according to Luminate. It is still too early to determine how “Cleveland!” will perform on the charts, but the song has clearly found two high-profile supporters in the Kelce brothers.
Swift Turns a Hometown Tour Into a Love Song
On the track, Swift contrasts the public criticism she sometimes receives with the affection she experiences with Travis. Her lyrics describe him taking her around Cleveland and showing her a house with a porch where he lived as a child.
The chorus makes that connection explicit: “My baby likes what he likes/ He already took me to Cleveland/ And he showed me The Heights, so hate all you like/ This is the love of my life.”
Swift also addresses negative commentary about their relationship elsewhere in the song, including suggestions that Travis could find someone younger. Against that criticism, “Cleveland!” presents his hometown tour as an intimate part of their life together.
The couple’s own Cleveland history also appears in the song’s lyric video. It includes home footage of Swift and Travis driving around the city together.
Before the video’s release, the pair had most recently been seen publicly in Cleveland in May, when they attended a Cleveland Cavaliers game against the New York Knicks. Swift and Travis later tied the knot at the beginning of July.
A Busy Run Following Encore
The release of The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore has been followed by several other major moments for Swift. The 14-time Grammy winner attended the 2026 VMAs, where she won video of the year for the self-directed visual for “The Fate of Ophelia.”
She also released a music video for fellow Encore track “Patient Zero,” starring Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell.
For now, the chart fate of “Cleveland!” remains to be seen. Inside the Kelce family, however, the verdict is already decisive: Jason keeps listening, and Travis believes Swift has given his home city an extra burst of energy.
