Sony’s “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” is still the film to beat at the U.K. and Ireland box office, holding the No. 1 spot for a sixth straight weekend with £1.6 million ($2.2 million).

The superhero title’s latest frame pushed its cumulative gross to $130.1 million, a milestone that moves it up to sixth place on the territory’s all-time box office chart. It is now close to reaching the all-time top five, with “Avatar” and “Spider-Man: No Way Home” identified as the next benchmarks ahead.

Universal’s “The Odyssey” continued to apply pressure from second place in its eighth weekend. The Christopher Nolan-directed epic added $2 million, bringing its total to $111.9 million and keeping the upper end of the chart dominated by two films with nine-figure grosses in the territory.

Sony also held third place with “Insidious: Out of the Further,” which earned $1 million in its third session. The horror release now stands at $8.7 million.

Disney’s “Toy Story 5” climbed back into fourth in its 12th frame, taking $565,417 and lifting its total to $78.6 million. Warner Bros.’ “The End of Oak Street” followed in fifth during its fourth week, adding $479,055 for a running total of $9.3 million.

Universal’s “Minions & Monsters” landed in sixth place in its 10th frame with $473,318, raising its cume to $24.4 million. True Brit Entertainment’s “The Death of Robin Hood” was the highest new arrival in the top 10, debuting in seventh with $427,272 including previews.

Disney’s “The Dog Stars” took eighth in its sophomore frame, grossing $411,911 for a cumulative $2.5 million. Altitude’s “Coyote vs. Acme” placed ninth in its third session with $391,648, bringing its total to $2.2 million. Paramount’s “Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie” completed the top 10 in its fifth week, banking $371,863 and moving to $8.2 million overall.

Outside the main chart action, Mubi’s “Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma” added $83,780 in specialized release across its third frame. Its running total now stands at $1.1 million.

New Releases Line Up for the Next Frame

The coming theatrical calendar in the U.K. and Ireland is crowded with event cinema, studio sequels, wide indie dramas, restorations and international titles.

The rollout has already begun with Dogwoof launching the sports documentary “Lomu.” Mid-week openings include Disney’s concert documentary “Oasis: Don’t Look Back in Anger,” which is releasing into more than 300 locations, alongside Studiocanal’s thriller “Pressure” and Lionsgate U.K.’s survival sequel “Fall 2.”

Thursday brings the 4K re-issue of “The Passion of the Christ” and Dreamz Entertainment’s Indian action title “Sardar 2.”

Friday’s wide commercial debuts opening across more than 300 locations are led by Warner Bros.’ fantasy comedy sequel “Practical Magic 2” and Scott Waugh’s action thriller “Runner,” starring Alan Ritchson and Owen Wilson.

The specialized, limited and international slate includes Break Out Pictures’ “Everybody Digs Bill Evans” across more than 25 sites; Olivier Nakache and Éric Toledano’s “Just an Illusion” across more than 25 locations; Central City Media’s “Unidentified Murder” across more than 25 screens; Tributary’s documentary “Better Go Mad in the Wild”; Dreamz Entertainment’s “Epic”; Miracle Comms and Goldfinch’s music documentary “Eddie Cochran: Don’t Forget Me”; and Peccadillo’s “Blue Film.”

Classic cinema will also have a notable presence. The schedule includes the 45th anniversary 4K re-issue of “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” the 30th anniversary return of Danny DeVito’s “Matilda,” and BFI Distribution’s new restoration of Claude Chabrol’s “La Femme infidèle (The Unfaithful Wife).” The weekend concludes Sunday with Anderson Entertainment and Kaleidoscope rolling out the “Space: 1999” 4K restoration double bill.

For now, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” remains firmly in control, while “The Odyssey” continues its long-running hold near the top of the chart.
