Rihanna has put a number on her unreleased music stash — and it is a sizable one.
During a TikTok Live for Fenty Beauty on Wednesday, Oct. 7, the singer answered a fan who asked her to estimate how many unreleased songs she currently has in the vault. Rather than give a straightforward total, Rihanna framed her response around the beauty brand’s products.
“If there are 10 products in a vault, then I have at least 17 vaults,” she said.
That calculation works out to at least 170 unreleased songs. The revelation, reported by Billboard, gives fans a fresh indication of just how much material Rihanna has accumulated, although it did not come with details about which tracks could eventually be released.
The update arrives more than 10 years after Rihanna’s most recent album, ANTI. Released in 2016, the project spent two weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and has remained on the chart for more than a decade.
Rihanna has reportedly been recording again
The vault estimate follows an August interview in which Rihanna’s partner, A$AP Rocky, said she was actively working in the studio. The couple share three children.
“Yo, she in the studio right now,” Rocky told Jason Lee. “Yeah, I said it. Sorry, babe. Like, bro, she working. She cooking, no funny sh—. Damn, I’mma get in trouble for this.”
Rocky’s comments confirmed that Rihanna had returned to recording, but there has otherwise been little indication of her specific plans for new music. Her TikTok Live answer similarly established the scale of her unreleased catalog without identifying a project, track list or release schedule.
Rihanna’s last release came in 2025, when she contributed “Friend of Mine” to the Smurfs Movie soundtrack. That song marked her latest officially released music after the long gap that followed ANTI.
A recent return to the stage
While fans continue waiting for news about a possible album, Rihanna also returned to the stage in July. She appeared as part of Jay-Z’s Extra Innings show at Yankee Stadium, where she performed “Run This Town” and “Bitch Better Have My Money.”
The performance, Rocky’s studio disclosure and Rihanna’s own vault calculation have now provided several signs of musical activity. Still, the only figure Rihanna confirmed during the Fenty Beauty livestream was that she has “at least” 170 unreleased songs — meaning the actual total could be higher.
What Happens Next?
Rihanna has not attached a release plan to the 170-plus recordings discussed during the livestream. For now, fans know that she has a substantial collection of unreleased material and, according to A$AP Rocky, has also been back in the studio working.
ShowBiz Take
The scale of Rihanna’s unreleased catalog, combined with A$AP Rocky’s confirmation that she is recording, signals substantial creative activity even though no release plan has been announced. That gap between active studio work and a decade without a new album keeps anticipation high while leaving the timing and form of any comeback uncertain.
Her ability to generate music headlines during a Fenty Beauty promotion also shows how closely her entertainment profile and consumer brand reinforce one another. Meanwhile, ANTI’s decade-plus Billboard 200 run demonstrates that her existing catalog continues to command attention throughout the long wait.
