Billy Crystal begins performances in his new one-man show, 860, on October 1 at Broadway’s Imperial Theatre.
The production will celebrate its official opening night on October 21. Directed by 12-time Tony nominee and Olivier winner Scott Ellis, the limited 14-week engagement is scheduled to continue through January 3, 2027.
860 draws on Crystal’s experiences following the Palisades fires, which destroyed his home. Through memories and pivotal moments from his life, the performer examines family, friendship, love, luck and loss while considering how laughter can help people endure extraordinarily difficult circumstances.
The show is presented as both an intimate and humorous story, placing Crystal alone onstage to revisit the relationships and experiences that have mattered most to him.
A Tony-Winning Team Joins Crystal
Crystal is supported by an accomplished Broadway creative team. Tony winner Marc Shaiman has contributed original music and adaptations, while Tony winner Scott Pask is responsible for the scenic design.
The production also features lighting design by Tony winner Jen Schriever and sound design by Tony nominee Dan Moses Schreier. Tony winner Hana S. Kim and Kylee Loera created the video design.
Crystal’s Return to the Broadway Stage
The Tony and Emmy Award-winning performer was most recently seen on Broadway in Mr. Saturday Night, the musical adaptation of his 1992 film.
Crystal made his Broadway debut in 2004 with another solo production, 700 Sundays. That show earned him the Tony Award for Best Special Theatrical Event, and its Broadway production was later released as an HBO special.
With 860, Crystal returns to the one-man format that marked his Broadway debut, this time centering the production on memory, profound personal loss and the sustaining force of comedy.
What Happens Next?
Following the start of performances on October 1, 860 will move toward its October 21 opening night at the Imperial Theatre. The limited Broadway run is set to conclude on January 3, 2027.
