Dan Reynolds and Minka Kelly have reportedly ended their four-year relationship.
The Imagine Dragons frontman and the Ransom Canyon actress split recently, according to a source close to the former couple. Representatives for Reynolds have been contacted for confirmation.
The reported breakup comes only months after Reynolds and Kelly made their first red-carpet appearance as a couple. They attended the 2026 Museum of Contemporary Art Gala in Los Angeles on May 30, with Kelly later posting photographs from the event on Instagram and calling the outing “Date night.”
A relationship mostly kept out of the spotlight
Reynolds and Kelly were first linked in 2022 after a mutual friend introduced them. Although they largely kept their romance private, they occasionally offered glimpses of their time together through social media and public appearances.
In July, Kelly shared photographs from a Disneyland trip with Reynolds and his four children. “No place I’d rather be,” she wrote alongside the carousel. That same month, she also posted an affectionate birthday tribute to Reynolds.
Reynolds shares his four children with his ex-wife, Aja Volkman. He previously described taking a careful approach when introducing Kelly into their lives and said his children had grown to love her.
The couple’s connection began before they met face-to-face. Reynolds said they got to know one another by exchanging work from their respective creative projects. Kelly sent him material from her memoir, Tell Me Everything, while he shared music that was still in progress.
That early back-and-forth helped establish the bond that eventually developed into their four-year relationship.
Their careers also crossed paths
Reynolds and Kelly’s relationship eventually extended into their professional lives. Reynolds appeared in the first season of Kelly’s Netflix drama Ransom Canyon, playing cattle buyer Billy Brinks.
Kelly later said she hoped to find a way for Reynolds’ character to return in the show’s second season. His involvement was not limited to appearing on camera: Reynolds also helped Kelly learn to play piano for her role.
During the relationship, Reynolds continued his work as Imagine Dragons’ frontman. The band’s catalog includes “Radioactive,” “Demons,” “Believer” and “Thunder.” Its most recent album, Loom, was released in 2024 and debuted at No. 22 on the albums ranking.
The reported split marks a change for a couple who had only recently become more publicly visible after years of keeping much of their relationship away from the spotlight. While a source close to the former pair says the breakup happened recently, formal confirmation from Reynolds’ representatives remains pending.
