“Percy Jackson and the Olympians” is expanding beyond its original Disney+ home, but the move comes with a firm time limit.
As of October 4, the first two seasons of the fantasy series are available on Netflix as well as Disney+. The Walker Scobell-led adaptation of Rick Riordan’s book series was created as a Disney+ exclusive and remains an ongoing show on that platform.
The Netflix arrival is part of a new licensing agreement between Disney and Netflix covering 14 television shows and movies. For “Percy Jackson and the Olympians,” however, that deal extends only to the first two seasons and lasts for three months.
Beginning January 4, 2027, Disney+ will once again become the only streaming service carrying the series. That gives Netflix subscribers a limited opportunity to watch the story so far before its latest episodes continue elsewhere.
The show has already made an impact following its move. Seasons 1 and 2 rank in Netflix’s Top 10 in the immediate wake of their arrival on the service. As of this writing, “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” also has a 95% critics score and an 82% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Season 3 remains a Disney+ exclusive
The Netflix deal does not include the upcoming third season. Although most of Season 3 will be released while the first two seasons are still available on Netflix, those new episodes will stream exclusively on Disney+.
There are currently no announced plans for Season 3 to become available on Netflix. The arrangement between the companies covers only the two existing seasons, separating the show’s temporary Netflix run from the release of its next chapter.
Season 3 will adapt “The Titan’s Curse,” the third novel in Riordan’s series. It premieres on Disney+ on November 20 and will consist of eight episodes released weekly.
What Happens Next?
Netflix viewers can use the three-month licensing window to catch up on the first two seasons, but continuing Percy’s story will require Disney+. Once the Netflix availability ends on January 4, 2027, the entire series will again be exclusive to Disney’s streaming platform.
