Disney has increased the monthly price of most Disney+ and Hulu streaming plans, with the sharpest rise hitting customers who choose ad-free Premium subscriptions.

The individual Disney+ Premium and Hulu Premium plans now cost $21.49 per month. Each has gone up by $2.50, representing a 13% increase.

Subscribers on the ad-supported tier will see a smaller change. The individual ad-supported plans for Disney+ and Hulu have each increased by 50 cents to $12.49 per month.

The move marks Disney’s fourth streaming price increase in as many years and comes during another round of rate hikes across the wider streaming business.

Disney bundles take different paths

Disney’s latest pricing changes also affect several bundles, although some packages are remaining at their current rates. The differences make certain bundles proportionally more attractive than the individual subscriptions.

The ad-free bundle combining Disney+ and Hulu has increased by $2 to $21.99 per month. By comparison, the ad-supported Disney+ and Hulu bundle remains unchanged at $12.99.

For customers seeking Disney+, Hulu and ESPN together, the bundle with advertising has risen by $2 to $21.99 per month.

The ad-free Disney+, Hulu and ESPN Premium Select Bundle is getting the largest dollar increase among the affected packages. Its price has climbed by $3 to $32.99 per month.

Disney is holding the line on both versions of its Unlimited Bundle. The Disney+, Hulu and ESPN Unlimited Bundle with ads remains $35.99, while the ad-free Premium Unlimited Bundle stays at $44.99.

That creates a varied pricing picture across Disney’s streaming lineup: individual subscriptions and selected packages are becoming more expensive, while the ad-supported Disney+ and Hulu bundle and both Unlimited options are staying flat.

Streaming prices continue to climb

Disney’s changes are part of a sustained series of streaming price increases as companies have shifted their attention from adding subscribers toward profitability.

Apple TV+ raised its rates in August, the same month NBCUniversal announced higher prices for Peacock. The changes underscore a broader pattern of streaming services revisiting their monthly charges while offering consumers a growing range of plan and package configurations.

Bundling has become an increasingly important part of that strategy. Packages can reduce churn, the rate at which customers subscribe to a service and then cancel it during a given period.

Some bundles bring together related services from the same company, while others cross corporate lines. Existing combinations include Disney+, Hulu and HBO Max, as well as a separate package featuring Apple TV+ and Peacock.

Streaming aggregators have also been expanding their bundle offerings. Amazon Prime Video unveiled a package including AMC+, BritBox, MGM+, PBS Masterpiece and Starz. Roku introduced a customizable collection featuring 30 new service combinations, including options involving HBO Max, AMC+, Fox One and Starz.

Against that increasingly package-driven backdrop, Disney’s new rates put a greater price gap between some standalone plans and their bundled alternatives. Customers choosing Disney+ or Hulu will now face higher monthly costs on both the Premium and ad-supported individual tiers, while several multi-service packages avoid an increase altogether.
