Virender Sehwag-hosted reality series “Rise & Fall Season 2” has locked in a Sept. 26 streaming launch on Prime Video, with the first four contestants now confirmed for the new run.
The Banijay Asia production will stream free of charge on Prime Video and on the MX Player Android app, which is now operating under the refreshed identity MX Player by Prime Video. New episodes will be released daily across the show’s 42-day run.
The upcoming season will feature 15 contestants in all. The first four names announced are Swara Bhasker, Shehzad Poonawalla, Priyanka Chahar Choudhary and Karan Patel. The remaining 11 contestants have not yet been revealed.
Adapted from the hit U.K. format originally created by Studio Lambert, “Rise & Fall” is built around a changing social hierarchy. Contestants move between Ruler and Worker positions, with their status determined by decisions made inside the game rather than by scripted outcomes.

Chahar Choudhary, who has prior reality-television credits, said the format offers a different kind of challenge from what she has experienced before.
“I’ve experienced reality television in different forms, but ‘Rise & Fall Season 2’ brings a whole new dimension to the game,” Chahar Choudhary said. “The idea of going from being a Ruler to a Worker and having your position shaped by the choices you make, makes this experience especially exciting for me. Reality shows have taught me to trust my instincts, stay true to myself and play every moment as it comes, but this time, the power dynamics add an entirely different layer. I’m ready to step into the game, take on whatever position comes my way and see how far I can rise.”
Bhasker pointed to the show’s mix of personalities, strategy and shifting authority as a central draw.
“I’ve always been someone who wears her opinions on her sleeve, so entering a game like ‘Rise & Fall Season 2’ is going to be quite an experience,” Bhasker said. “The show brings together personalities with very different perspectives, and when power and strategy come into play, I’m sure those differences will make for some fascinating dynamics. I’m excited to see how it all unfolds.”
Patel, known for a long run in Indian television drama, described the series as a chance to compete outside a scripted role.
“People have seen me play different characters and tell stories through television all these years, but ‘Rise & Fall Season 2’ gives me the chance to enter a completely different arena as myself,” Patel said. “What excites me is the competitive side of it having to make a move, back your decision and keep pushing yourself when the game shifts. I’m looking forward to embracing that challenge and giving this game everything I’ve got.”
Poonawalla framed his participation around the show’s title and the idea of entering a new phase with fresh challenges.
“My life and journey has been synonymous with rise and fall,” Poonawalla said. “Literally this show espouses my journey and even as one chapter ends – a new chapter in life begins with its own set of challenges and opportunities. ‘Rise & Fall Season 2’ feels like a particularly interesting innings for me. I’ve always enjoyed spaces where there is room for a strong point of view and this game brings together people with very different perspectives and ways of looking at things but they must know by now I have zero tolerance for those who try to belittle Bharat and its history. It will be interesting to see how absolute strangers walk into a situation where they have to ally at times or be on opposite sides at other times. On a lighter note – I’m glad I don’t have to pay rent for the next six weeks.”
What happens next?
With the Sept. 26 premiere date set, the next reveal will be the rest of the contestant lineup. Eleven participants remain unannounced for the 15-contestant season, which will unfold with daily episodes on Prime Video and the MX Player Android app.
