Pop music fans are really being gifted this summer, thanks to new releases from the likes of Madonna, Olivia Rodrigo, Charli XCX, and Ariana Grande. But, we mustn’t forget Tyla, who in just a short matter of time has quickly proven herself to be one of the most exciting—and stylish—rising stars in the game.
Today, the South African singer released her second studio album, A*Pop, which was preceded by hit singles such as “Chanel” and “She Did It Again.” To commemorate the start of this new era, Tyla held a listening event for fans in New York City last night, where she not only gave attendees an early taste of her new music, but she also turned heads in an eye-popping ensemble with a print that called for a double take.
There, the queen of maximalist style wore a skin-tight top and matching capris courtesy of Poster Girl, the British shapewear label that’s been embraced by everyone from Beyoncé to Kylie Jenner.
Tyla chose the brand’s Knockout Capris and Doll Top, two complementary pieces that feature a pink leopard print as a base, with a slightly-more NSFW pattern layered on top (take a closer look at the links below if you happened to miss it).
The spaghetti-strap top featured corsetry along the waist, and two thick black bands running down the middle, while the pants featured scrunchy ruching around back. She completed the look with a set of black peep-toe heels with ruffled material encircling them like skirts, as well as black orb-like stud earrings. Her hair, meanwhile, was tied up into a high ponytail.
This morning, Tyla followed up the party with an appearance on NBC’s Today, where she wore a pair of silver sequined capris with lace-up, and eyelet, panels, paired with a patchwork bra top and newsboy cap. And for her favorite beauty trick of late, she also covered her body in glitter.
Clearly, with this new era, Tyla is not getting any less bold with her fashion.
