EXCLUSIVE: Tim Robbins and Sissy Spacek are set to join the Universal pic The Catch starring Emma Stone and Chris Pine. Ashley Padilla and Druskialso recently joined the cast. Dave McCary will direct the film, which is set to bow on May 21, 2027.

Watch on Deadline
The film will be a fun throwback for Robbins who caught his big break in the 1988 sports comedy Bull Durham, where he played a hot shot minor league pitcher opposite Kevin Costner. Given how much that film inspired this film, it’s only fitting he has a role in it.
Stone, McCary and Ali Herting will produce through Fruit Tree’s first-look deal with Universal Pictures, with Shawn Levy and Dan Levine producing through 21 Laps. Michael H. Weber will also produce.
Senior EVP Production Development Erik Baiers and Director of Production Development Jacqueline Garell will oversee the project for the studio.
Robbins was recently seen on the first two seasons of the hit Apple TV show Silo. Spacek was most recently seen opposite Jennifer Lawrence in Die, My Love. Robbins is repped by CAA and Anonymous Content and Spacek is repped by UTA and MGMT Entertainment.
