Amazon’s adaptation of “Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone” is building out its deadly family reunion, adding eight series regulars alongside previously announced lead Penn Badgley.

Patricia Clarkson, Elizabeth Marvel, Daniella Garcia, Felix Solis, Sean Astin, Annaleigh Ashford, Chris Walley and Eliza Bennett have joined the darkly comedic series, Variety reported. The project is based on Benjamin Stevenson’s novel of the same name.

Clarkson’s credits include “Sharp Objects” and “Pieces of April,” while Marvel has appeared in “Disclosure Day” and “Presumed Innocent.” Garcia is known for “Diamond” and “Grey’s Anatomy,” and Solis’ credits include “Ozark” and “Sirens.”

Astin has appeared in “Stranger Things” and “The Lord of the Rings.” Ashford’s credits include “Happy Face” and “Welcome to Chippendales,” Walley has appeared in “The Young Offenders” and “1917,” and Bennett is known for “Sweet/Vicious” and “Dynasty.”

The announcement does not assign characters to the eight newly added actors, but it confirms they will all be series regulars.

A Family Reunion Turns Deadly

Badgley will play Ern Cunningham, an expert in mystery writing who reluctantly travels to a family gathering in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. The occasion is the return of his brother Michael, who is coming home from prison after Ern helped secure his conviction.

The already difficult reunion takes a more sinister turn when a frozen body is discovered. With a snowstorm preventing anyone from leaving, more people begin to die. Complicating Ern’s attempt to understand what is happening is the fact that every member of his family has previously killed someone, whether deliberately or accidentally.

The premise combines a murder mystery with dark comedy, placing its expanding ensemble inside a snowbound setting where the characters’ shared history makes everyone part of the danger.

Creative Team Expands Behind the Camera

Alexandra Broksky has joined the series as an executive producer and will direct half of its episodes. Her directing assignment includes two pivotal installments: the premiere and the season finale.

David Hemingson is adapting Stevenson’s book for television and will serve as showrunner and executive producer. Bruna Papandrea, Steve Hutensky and Jeanne Snow of Made Up Stories are also executive producing, along with Molly Allen.

Badgley will be an executive producer in addition to leading the cast, while Stevenson is also attached as an executive producer. Amazon MGM Studios, Fifth Season and Made Up Stories will co-produce the series.

ShowBiz Take

This casting update gives Amazon’s adaptation a much clearer sense of scale. What had previously been a project centered publicly on Badgley now has nine confirmed series regulars, an important development for a story built around a deeply complicated family and an escalating number of deaths.

The directing plan also establishes creative continuity at both ends of the season. By handling half the episodes—including the opening chapter and the finale—Broksky will have a major role in setting up the show’s snowbound mystery and delivering its concluding installment.

Most importantly, the newly assembled cast fits the structure established by the premise: a family reunion in which old crimes are not merely background information but central to the mystery. With Clarkson, Astin, Marvel, Garcia, Solis, Ashford, Walley and Bennett now joining Badgley, “Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone” has filled out the ensemble at the heart of its lethal gathering.
