2 min readSometimes, being in love makes you want to act like a kid again, and Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds were certainly leaning into their playful side when they were spotted on a date night in New York City earlier this week.
After a romantic dinner on Tuesday evening, the pair was seen departing from the Greenwich Hotel, and in a scene straight out of a rom-con, Reynolds decided to give his better half a literal piggyback ride on the way home. (Luckily for him, they didn’t have too far to go, as they own a Tribeca loft right around the corner from the famous hotel.)

On the unconventional journey home, Lively was seen wearing a chocolate leather jacket layered over a ribbed tank and black pants, the latter of which was decorated with white polka dots, as well as golden studs dotting the bottoms of the legs. She completed the look with a pair of spiky stilettos from Christian Louboutin (possibly the culprit for why she didn’t want to walk home), along with a sequined Fendi baguette bag.
As for Reynolds, the actor chose a salmon button-up layered over a white tee and paired with khakis that were rolled up at the cuffs. His footwear was much more sensible: a pair of white sneakers with colorful laces to match his shirt, perfect for piggyback rides and the like.
While this might’ve been the most head-turning part of their day, Reynolds and Lively were also seen out and about in the city hours prior, snapping photos with fans and even getting a little cheeky with their PDA. Their anniversary may still be three months away, but who says they can’t celebrate their romance year-round?
The two Hollywood stars have been together since 2011, and they tied the knot the following year with a private ceremony in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Now, they’re parents to four children: James, 11, Inez, 9, Betty, 6, and Olin, 3. And clearly, they haven’t lost any of their spark.
