Since rising to worldwide fame, Rosalía has quickly proven herself to be one of the most daring and exciting pop stars around, thanks in no small part to her fashion. From her dramatic and artful street style to her luxury concert looks, the “Berghain” singer is clearly a disciple of the industry, and since she’s often garnering headlines for her looks, it only feels fitting that she decided to wear some on her latest outfit.

Earlier this week, the Spanish pop star was seen walking around Mexico City (check it out here), where she turned heads yet again in a sleeveless newspaper-print dress. Of course, this look brought to mind one of Carrie Bradshaw’s most iconic ensembles from Sex and the City, but while Carrie’s iteration was courtesy of Dior by John Galliano, Rosalía decided to turn to a brand from her home country: Desigual.

Courtesy of the Barcelona-based fashion house, Rosalía’s round-neck midi dress featured a flared skirt with subtle folds, while the fabric was decorated all over with graphics meant to emulate newspaper pages.

The Grammy winner completed her fit with a few inky accessories, including leather ballet flats, skinny rectangular sunglasses, and a wide, bow-shaped hair clip, which held together her messy updo.

Rosalía isn’t the first to channel Carrie’s look though, as everyone from Emily Ratajkowski to Ashley Graham has followed in the SATC character’s high-heeled footsteps. Last year, Jenna Ortega even wore the exact same design while promoting her psychological thriller film Hurry Up Tomorrow.

The way I see it, Rosalía is simply here to prove that, while the news may be changing every day, a newspaper print is truly timeless.
