Rihanna has never exactly been a minimalist. When it comes to her street style, the billionaire superstar will wear sculptural designer sets and impractical neon gloves just to dinner. She likes dramatic fur boas and stoles, and she’ll stack layers upon layers of animal prints. However, the “Umbrella” singer may have just pulled off one of her most ostentatious outfits yet.

This week, the Savage X Fenty founder made her return to Barbados for the Crop Over festival, her homeland’s biggest summer celebration, which dates back to the 1780s and marks the end of the sugar cane season. Like Barbados’ answer to Carnival, the festival calls for dramatic, colorful ensembles, and Rihanna certainly did not disappoint as she attended the final event, called Grand Kadooment, in a custom look from designer Lauren Austin.

This year marks the first time since 2024 that Rihanna has attended the event, and to make up for lost time, the Grammy winner chose a fabulous multicolored fit that cloaked her from head to toe.

As a base, she wore a teal satin bra and bottoms with attached bands that snaked around her body, decorated with gemstones, tassels, and sequins. She also slipped on mesh teal flats to match. For an elaborate finish, the look featured an ornate headpiece, which crested behind the superstar like a dome, with kaleidoscopic feathers shooting off of it in all directions.

Rihanna has been a frequent attendee of the festival, always wearing elaborate designs with feathers, jewels, and more. This year, she spent time with family members, like her brother, Rorrey, and his band, Aura. She was also seen hanging around her childhood best friend, Sonita Alexander, and her kids, to whom Rihanna serves as godmother.

Who knew RiRi could even outdo herself, style-wise?
