Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dave Grohl, Vince Staples and comedian Marc Maron are joining forces for the Silverlake Conservatory of Music’s 25th anniversary benefit concert.
The event will take place Oct. 17, 2026, at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. The major anniversary show marks a change from the nonprofit music school’s traditional fundraising format and is expected to raise around $1.5 million for its programming.
Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea, one of the Conservatory’s co-founders, promoted the celebration on Instagram while emphasizing the school’s reach and the services it provides.
“Come celebrate a quarter century of The Silverlake Conservatory Of Music! Yeeeeeeeah! Proceeds of course all go to the non -profit school. We teach 1000 kids a week, we are open 7 days a week. Private lessons, ensembles, choir. We are beautiful,” he wrote.
Grohl will appear alongside the Chili Peppers, Staples and Maron on the benefit’s bill. Grohl is identified as the Foo Fighters frontman, while Maron adds a comedy presence to the lineup.
A Public Celebration for the Conservatory
Flea and musician Keith “Tree” Barry co-founded the nonprofit school with Peter Weiss in 2001. Its mission was to help fill gaps in music education within Los Angeles public schools.
Twenty-five years later, the Conservatory provides music lessons to more than 1,000 students every week and operates seven days a week. Its offerings include private lessons, ensembles and choir.
The school also runs a scholarship program serving more than 200 students whose families cannot afford music lessons. Those students receive free lessons, instruments and supplies, along with access to ensemble classes.
Past fundraising efforts have generally taken the form of an annual private dinner. For the anniversary, however, the Conservatory is bringing the event to the Hollywood Palladium for a benefit concert open to ticket buyers.
The school’s previous events have featured performances from Beck, Neil Young, Eddie Vedder, Patti Smith, Bruno Mars and Red Hot Chili Peppers. The Chili Peppers’ return for the 25th anniversary gives Flea another opportunity to support the organization he helped establish.
What Happens Next?
A presale for the Oct. 17 benefit begins Thursday, Sept. 24. Tickets will then go on sale to the general public Friday, Sept. 25, at 1 p.m. ET.
The Silverlake Conservatory of Music is also providing information about VIP packages and sponsorship opportunities through its website. Proceeds from the concert will go to the nonprofit school as it seeks to meet its approximately $1.5 million fundraising goal for programming.
