The monarch has repped the traditional Spanish shoe time and time again, usually styling her pairs with colorful long dresses. And today, she stepped out in the style again, to greet university students at Zarzuela Palace in Madrid.
Today’s wedges had inky-black canvas in the front and white in the back, and Letizia tied the black ribbon ties up her legs. She paired them this time with a black maxi dress, ideal for staying cool in the heatwave currently taking over Spain. The sleeveless dress had a high neck, cinched waist, and ample skirt embroidered with white horizontal stripes. White floral embroidery adorned the bodice.
The boho piece hailed from French label Antik Batik.
Little gold star earrings decorated the royal’s ears, and for glam, she stayed loyal to her maroon smoky eye.
Letizia, known to support Spanish brand and designers, tends to favor handmade espadrilles from local label Calzados Picón. The brand even named a 3.5-inch wedge style “Letizia” in her honor.
The queen has previously stepped out in blue, hot pink, white, and beige styles from the brand—and now, she has debuted the chic black pair.
“Seeing Queen Letizia wearing our espadrilles once again fills us with joy,” the brand wrote in a recent Instagram post, in Spanish. “It is an enormous source of pride for our entire team to see that she trusts our work, and to have had the opportunity to design different styles for her over the years.
