NCT 127 have launched their fifth headlining tour, “Neo City: The Redline,” with three sold-out concerts in Seoul that also celebrated the K-pop group’s 10th anniversary.
The opening run began Sept. 18 and concluded Saturday, Sept. 20, local time, at KSPO Dome in Olympic Park. All available tickets were sold, including restricted-view seats, with the three shows drawing approximately 31,500 fans, according to the group’s label, SM Entertainment.
The Sept. 19 and Sept. 20 concerts also reached an international audience through worldwide livestreams on Beyond LIVE and Weverse.
A high-flying start to the tour
Performing with a five-member lineup, NCT 127 used elaborate production to turn the Seoul engagement into a large-scale anniversary showcase.
The concert opened with “Legacy,” which featured the members descending through the air on wires. “Punch” brought a boxing-ring-inspired arena setup and a sizable company of dancers, while the group made its entrance for “Piñata” in a real vehicle, continuing the action from a prerecorded video segment.
Taeyong added another anniversary touch by unveiling a newly written rap verse for “Cherry Bomb.” The updated section reflected NCT 127’s development across the decade while revisiting a longtime fan favorite.
The show later moved into an extended medley that included “Fire Truck,” “Fact Check” and “Kick It.” Songs from the group’s newest album were woven through the set as NCT 127 balanced its latest material with tracks from earlier in its career.
The final Seoul performance also brought an unexpected audience appearance from Jungwoo and Doyoung, who are currently completing their mandatory military service. Doyoung arrived with a rice cake he had prepared to commemorate the group’s 10th debut anniversary.
A decade of chart milestones
NCT 127 debuted in 2016 as the Seoul-based sub-unit of the larger group NCT. The act has since built a major commercial presence in the United States, including a run of top-five albums on the country’s main albums chart.
The group first entered the chart’s top five with 2020’s Neo Zone, which peaked at No. 5. The project also became NCT 127’s first album to sell more than one million copies.
Its 2021 follow-up, Sticker, debuted at No. 3 and was then the highest-charting K-pop album of that year in the U.S. The group returned to the top five with 2022’s 2 Baddies, making NCT 127 the second K-pop act to place three albums inside the chart’s top five.
NCT 127’s most recent full-length album, 2024’s Walk, also debuted at No. 3.
What Happens Next?
Following the three-night Seoul launch, “Neo City: The Redline” is scheduled to continue across Asia through January 2027. Upcoming tour stops are set for Jakarta, Hong Kong, Singapore, Saitama, Bangkok, Manila, Taipei and Kuala Lumpur.
