HBO is moving ahead with another Leslie Bibb project, landing The Rush Whisperer for development in a competitive situation.
The comedy is set to star Bibb, who will also executive produce. The project arrives as the actor continues a busy run with the network following her starring role in Season 3 of The White Lotus, for which she shared an Actor nomination, and a recent guest appearance on Hacks that earned her a 2026 Emmy nomination.
The Rush Whisperer is described as a dark comedy set inside the cutthroat world of sorority recruitment. The project is based on Grey Battle’s article, “How Much Would You Pay for Friendship? Private Rush Coaches are Selling Teens the Sorority Dream.” A penalty is said to be attached to the development deal.

Kelly Hutchinson and Grace Parra Janney are co-writing the project. Hutchinson’s credits include Dead to Me and Palm Royale, while Janney’s include Star Trek: Lower Decks and Solar Opposites.
Bibb, Hutchinson and Janney are executive producing alongside Kristen Campo and Daniel Simon for Campout Productions, as well as Scoop Wasserstein for New York Magazine/Vox Media Studios. Battle will serve as a consulting producer.
The setup gives HBO a comedy package built around a specific contemporary social ecosystem: private rush coaching and the business of selling the sorority dream to teens. The source material’s title points directly to the project’s central tension, framing friendship, status and recruitment as a transactional arena.
