“The Odyssey” continued to dominate South Korea’s theatrical market over the Sept. 4–6 weekend, maintaining a commanding box office lead while outpacing “Spider-Man: Brand New Day.”

According to KOBIS, the box office tracking service operated by the Korean Film Council, the Christopher Nolan-directed tentpole earned $5.9 million across the three-day frame. The film drew 698,384 admissions and played on 1,858 screens, giving it 60.92% of the total measured in the weekend data.

The result keeps “The Odyssey” firmly at the center of Korea’s moviegoing conversation. A weekend share of more than 60% points to a market where one title is absorbing the majority of audience attention, even with another major franchise entry, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” in the mix.

The weekend also came as admissions topped 10 million, adding another significant marker to the South Korean box office story. The available figures underline the scale of “The Odyssey’s” current run: nearly 700,000 admissions in a single three-day frame, spread across a wide 1,858-screen footprint.

For the Korean market, the Sept. 4–6 frame was defined less by a close contest and more by the continued strength of a clear leader. “The Odyssey” not only held first place, but did so with a level of market share that left little room for rivals to challenge its position over the weekend.
