KATSEYE’s big-screen story is heading to streaming. KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS will arrive Oct. 16 on Disney+ and Hulu in the U.S., with an international release on Disney+ the same day.
Disney+ and Hulu announced the streaming plans on Wednesday, Sept. 23, giving fans another opportunity to see the film following its special theatrical run in August. The movie reached cinemas two days before the Grammy-nominated girl group released its No. 1 EP, WILD.
Positioned as a “love letter” to KATSEYE’s EYEKONS fan community, WILD HEARTS combines previously unseen footage, videos created by fans and personal interviews with the group’s members. The film focuses on the connection between KATSEYE and its global fandom while documenting the group’s move into what its official synopsis calls a “bold new era.”
From ‘Dream Academy’ to global success
The movie follows the journey of singers Daniela Avanzini, Yoonchae, Lara Raj, Megan Skinediel, Manon Bannerman and Sophia Laforteza. Bannerman and Laforteza are currently on hiatus.
The group was formed through the 2023 reality television competition series Dream Academy. That process later became the subject of the Netflix series Pop Star Academy: Katseye. WILD HEARTS continues the story from those beginnings through KATSEYE’s chart-topping global success.
Rather than concentrating solely on performances or career milestones, the film also puts EYEKONS at the center of the narrative. Its mix of fan contributions and interviews is designed to explore how the group’s audience has participated in and supported that rise.
Nadia Hallgren, whose credits include Becoming, directed the film. Interscope Films and Boardwalk Pictures produced it in partnership with HYBE x Geffen.
A streaming debut amid the Wildworld tour
The Oct. 16 streaming launch comes during an active period for KATSEYE. The group began a European stretch of its Wildworld tour on Sept. 1 in Dublin, Ireland.
Tour dates are scheduled to resume in North America on Oct. 13 at Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida, three days before WILD HEARTS becomes available to stream.
For viewers in the U.S., the film will be offered on both Disney+ and Hulu. Internationally, Disney+ will be its streaming home. The release extends the film beyond its limited theatrical presentation while preserving its focus on the members, their formation and the EYEKONS who have followed their journey.
