Leave it to Katie Holmes to make a simple nude color look so striking. Proving the neutral hue can be just as interesting as any other, the actor stepped out in a trio of looks that played with the subtle shade—from a dinner top to a premiere dress to an after-party fit. All events were in honor of her forthcoming film, Happy Hours, which made its debut at the Tribeca Film Festival earlier this week.
For the premiere, Holmes dressed up in a blush-pink silk column dress from Chloé, designed with delicate puff sleeves and a long skirt. Lace details and dangling ties with gold-tone metal tips added a whimsical, romantic touch to the piece, which the star wore with black sandals. Also from Chloé, her heels featured spherical gold accents, and she matched them with her stack of jewelry: a pair of long gold Sara Heisman earrings with “floating” diamonds and a coordinating necklace.
The Dawson’s Creek actor kept these jewels for the after-party, but she changed into a different lace-trimmed silk satin dress. She wore this one—which was courtesy of Magda Butrym and constructed with a gathered waist and a high-low hem—over a white tank and a pair of black leather pants. The styling certainly gave the soft hue a bit of edge.
Later in the week, Holmes pulled the shade back out, attending the Chanel Tribeca Festival Artists Dinner at Tribeca Grill in a sleeveless nude knit and high-waisted trousers. She finished off the look with Chanel cap-toe heels and a bowling bag—both in a coordinating khaki hue.
