Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s “Crazy in Love” has officially joined YouTube’s Billion Views Club, with the collaboration’s official music video surpassing 1 billion views on the platform.

The achievement gives Beyoncé her third music video to reach the billion-view milestone. “Crazy in Love” now joins “Halo” and “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” among the singer’s videos to cross that threshold.

The latest benchmark arrives more than two decades after “Crazy in Love” helped introduce Beyoncé as a solo superstar. Released in 2003, the track served as the lead single from her solo debut album, Dangerously in Love, and established her success outside Destiny’s Child.

A Video Built Around Beyoncé’s Star Power

Directed by Jake Nava, the “Crazy in Love” video paired Beyoncé’s choreography with an appearance from Jay-Z, who performs his verse in the visual. Its dance work quickly earned industry recognition: The video won best choreography at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards.

That combination of movement, performance and the two artists’ on-screen collaboration has now carried the official video into one of YouTube’s most notable viewership categories.

The billion-view total also extends the history of a release that proved immediately successful on the charts. “Crazy in Love” became Beyoncé’s first solo No. 1 on the Hot 100 and remained at the top for eight consecutive weeks.

Awards and Lasting Commercial Success

The song earned two Grammy Awards, winning best rap/sung collaboration and best R&B song. It was also nominated for record of the year.

Its commercial performance has continued well beyond its original 2003 release. In December 2024, “Crazy in Love” received an eight-times-platinum certification from the RIAA, representing 8 million certified units in the United States.

With its Grammy wins, chart-topping run, MTV Video Music Award recognition and multi-platinum certification already secured, the YouTube milestone adds another major marker to the collaboration’s record. More than 20 years after the song led Dangerously in Love, “Crazy in Love” has become Beyoncé’s third video to be watched more than 1 billion times on the platform.
