If the dark, high-fashion goth vibes of their wedding didn’t give away Gabbriette and Matty Healy’s couple aesthetic, then their honeymoon wardrobe certainly does. The newlyweds were the epitome of beach goth as they enjoyed (I think?) a beach day in northern California earlier this week.
The model—born Gabriella Leigh Bechtel—wore a slinky black triangle bikini subtly adorned with tiny blue pearls rather than the traditional bridal-white pearls. And over it, she layered an airy, floor-length coverup, also in black. The dark hues continued onto her oversize Chrome Hearts sunglasses and her raffia sun hat, which was wrapped in a black ribbon.
As for her beach bag, rather than reach for your traditional woven tote, Bechtel chose a spacious white leather bag from Chrome Hearts. Kymothée would approve.
The vocalist of The 1975 followed his new wife’s lead in dark gray shorts and skinny jet-black sunglasses. He later covered up in a tee, hat, and blue hoodie, and slipped on some black slides.
Both of their tattoos were visible as the two walked along the beach. Photos also show them lounging on chairs, sharing passionate kisses.
Bechtel and Healy married this past July 18 at Los Angeles’s Castillo del Lago, a historic Hollywood Hills estate once owned by Madonna. The bride wore a Victorian-inspired silk taffeta gown custom-made by Matières Fécales, featuring a corset and distressed detailing that added to the dark romance of it all. Healy, meanwhile, wore a classic black tuxedo, a bow tie, and a flower pinned to his lapel.
The ceremony was seemingly intimate, but known celebrity attendees included Charli XCX (with husband George Daniel) and Devon Lee Carlson.
This gothic romance is one for the ages.
