Georgie Cooper’s romantic past is catching up with him on “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.” Ava Allan is returning as Jana Boggs, Georgie’s former girlfriend from “Young Sheldon,” in an upcoming appearance on the CBS comedy.

Emily Osment, who plays Georgie’s wife Mandy, revealed Allan’s return by posting a behind-the-scenes photo on Instagram. The image shows Mandy and Jana seated together, setting up a potentially uncomfortable encounter between Georgie’s wife and his old flame.

“We definitely didn’t think about Georgie becoming a dad at the time,” Holland said. “So, lucky foreshadowing, but not foreshadowing.”

Jana and Georgie remained together until Season 5, Episode 3, when their relationship ended after Georgie announced that he intended to drop out of high school.

Georgie met Mandy soon afterward. Mandy’s unexpected pregnancy led to the birth of their daughter, CeeCee, and ultimately to Georgie and Mandy’s first marriage.

That timeline gives Jana’s return particular weight. She is not simply a passing character from Georgie’s earlier years; she was part of one of his most consequential relationships before his life with Mandy and CeeCee began.
