1 min readIf diamonds are a girl’s best friend, Charlize Theron has the coolest BFF around. Last night, the actor accessorized her all-black red-carpet look with a sparkling, extra-chunky ear cuff that was equal parts classic and daring.
While in Seoul for the South Korean premiere of The Odyssey, Theron dressed up in a dramatic Celine gown crafted from technical satin, with a sleeveless, high-neck silhouette and midriff cutout. From the shoulders, long, elegant trains of fabric draped down to the floor behind her, adding dimension to the open back and simple column shape. Styled by Leslie Fremar, the actor wore the piece with lace-up Oxford-style heels, also Celine, in a soft white calfskin.
Her glamorous messy bun (courtesy of hair stylist Adir Abergel) and dark sunglasses (Celine) gave a mysterious air to the look, but it was the aforementioned Dior diamond cuff that sealed the deal, adding an edgy feel to an otherwise traditionally elegant red-carpet ensemble.
The cuff, which hugged Theron’s left ear, featured intricate filigree work on a thick base, reflecting the look of a lattice eternity band (much like the one on her right-hand ring finger). The star’s smaller, delicate hoop and diamond studs only further emphasized the size of the accessory, which glistened against the camera’s lens. On her other ear, a duo of matching, medium-sized cuffs fell somewhere in the middle.
When it came to glam, Kate Lee approached things with a simple, rosy touch—adding a bit of pink blush and gloss to the face behind Christopher Nolan’s Calypso.
