The Odyssey press tour—and its fashion—continues! While in Seoul for the South Korean premiere of Christopher Nolan’s epic, Charlize Theron joined her fellow co-stars for a press conference. And rather than lean into the wardrobe of her character, Calypso, the actor separated herself from the sea nymph with a sharp and bold look from Haider Ackermann’s Fall 2026 collection for Tom Ford.

Leaving behind the bohemian shipwrecked styles and fishnet materials she lived in while filming, Theron did a full 180, turning to modern, commanding pieces made from shiny leather and transparent PVC. Her stylist, Leslie Fremar, built the ensemble from one of Ackermann’s recent runway looks—pulling a high-waisted see-through wrap skirt trimmed in black leather, a pair of matching black gloves, and semi-sheer tights dotted with the TF logo.

Putting their own spin on things, the stylist-actor duo traded the collection’s sheer blue button-down shirt for an opaque version, and the white lace slip skirt for a black one. They finished the red-carpet fit with pointed-toe heels and a lived-in comb-over bob.

Though it was a far cry from Calypso’s costumes, you could argue that Theron’s outfit reflected the inner world and polarizing power of the character, who held Odysseus captive on her island for seven years, before offering him some free therapy and helping him on his way.

The Tom Ford collection marked a year of Ackermann’s vision for the house, having been appointed by the founder himself in the fall of 2024 ahead of an Autumn/Winter 2025 debut. He succeeded Peter Hawkings, who took the helm from Ford himself in 2023, and has since brought his own eye for sharp tailoring, color use, and sensuality into the brand, ushering it into a new era.
