Celine Dion is back! Earlier today, the pop icon landed in Paris, marking her first public appearance in months, as she gears up to begin her residency at the Plenitude Arena in Nanterre, France. Announced in March 2026, the residency was originally supposed to consist of 16 shows lasting from September to October, but due to “overwhelming demand” (over nine million fans entered a lottery for early access to tickets), the show has been extended, with 10 additional performances set to take place in May 2027. This will mark her first concert series in six years, after her Courage World Tour ended in 2020.

Now, ahead of her long-awaited comeback, Dion was spotted in the City of Light this morning, where she was all smiles as she waved to crowds of fans waiting outside of her hotel, Le Royal Monceau – Raffles Paris.

Celine Dion is seen in Paris on August 28.

Dion wore a double-breasted trench coat, with notch lapels and draping ruffles on the sides. The outerwear also came equipped with a matching belt, which the “Because You Loved Me” singer tied into a bow in the front.

She layered the coat over a black long-sleeve sweater, as well as some black suede boots with cutouts on the sides, courtesy of Alaïa. She popped on a pair of mask-style sunglasses from the French fashion house as well.

The superstar is set to begin a residency in France next month.

In her September 2026 cover story for our Harper’s Bazaar “Icons” issue, Dion spoke about the health issues that have kept her from performing these last few years (she was diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome in 2022). “It is a progressive condition. I don’t like to say ‘disease,’” Dion noted.

However, she shared that she’s looking forward to returning to the stage in France next month and seeing her fans: “It’s been so long, I would like to offer them something to show how I’ve missed them.”
