Carín León’s Thursday night Sphere concert in Las Vegas did not go on as planned after what the singer described as a series of aircraft problems that kept him and his band from reaching the venue.
The Sept. 10 performance, billed as the fourth show in León’s Sphere residency, was postponed shortly before it was set to begin. In an Instagram Story translated into English, León told fans, “Due to an unexpected mishap during my move, and always putting everyone’s safety first, we unfortunately have to reschedule tonight’s show at Sphere.”
The postponement came after some fans were reportedly already in their seats waiting for the concert when the announcement was made over the arena’s sound system. León apologized directly to those who had planned to attend, acknowledging the disruption caused by the last-minute change.
“I know all the effort, excitement, and desire that many brought to be here tonight, and I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause,” he wrote. “Thank you for your patience, for understanding and for all the affection you always make me reach. See you the soonest my people.”
Tickets Will Carry Over to a New Date
León said tickets for the postponed show will be honored for a newly scheduled performance on Sept. 15, 2027. Fans who cannot attend that date can request a refund at the point of purchase within the next 30 days, according to the information he shared.
Sphere also addressed the postponement in a statement posted online, saying, “Due to an unexpected transportation issue, tonight’s Carín show at Sphere is postponed.”
In a video accompanying his message, León offered more detail on what he said happened while trying to get to Las Vegas. He said he and his band attempted to board two different planes on Thursday afternoon, but both aircraft had problems that prevented departure. According to León, one aircraft experienced brake failure, while another had a steering issue.
“We had to prioritize the safety of the people and the pilots, so we weren’t allowed to fly. The authorities wouldn’t let us,” León said in the video. “I sincerely apologize from the bottom of my heart and want to reaffirm our love for you. This isn’t a lack of commitment on our part. Things simply didn’t go as we had hoped, and I stand here feeling deeply embarrassed.”
At press time, Billboard reported that a spokesperson for León had not returned its request for further comment on the postponement.
A Milestone Sphere Run
The postponed concert was part of a significant moment in León’s career. The 37-year-old singer became the first Latin artist to book a residency at Sphere, the immersive Las Vegas venue. He began his planned seven-show run last week.
León’s opening sold-out Sphere performance took place Sept. 4 and included appearances from country singer Cody Johnson and Mexican rock band The Warning.
Earlier on Thursday, before the postponement was announced, León revealed plans to return to Sphere in 2027. That next run of shows, produced by AEG, is scheduled for Sept. 16, 17 and 18 during Mexico’s Independence Day celebrations.

León remains booked for additional Sphere performances this week. His next scheduled dates at the venue are Friday, Sept. 11, Saturday, Sept. 12, and Sunday, Sept. 13.
