Cardi B has joined the lineup for Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, unveiling her brash new track “Don’t Chart” as part of the video game’s soundtrack.
The Grammy-winning rapper revealed the song on Thursday night, Oct. 8, giving the Bardi Gang a short directive in her Instagram announcement: “Run it up.”
“Don’t Chart” finds Cardi leaning into playful bravado while directly addressing her record on the charts. “Look at me now, Cardi a whole star/ I can name this song ‘Don’t Chart,’ it’s gon’ chart,” she raps.
That boast comes with considerable history behind it. Cardi has placed 66 entries on the Billboard Hot 100 to date, including five No. 1 hits.
The song also includes what fans interpreted as a subliminal swipe at an unnamed opponent. “You love my style, you love my taste/ I got a different Birkin bag for every bump in your face, b—h,” Cardi delivers on the track.
Cardi B Had Already Teased a GTA Connection
The 33-year-old appeared to signal her involvement before formally announcing “Don’t Chart.” In an earlier Instagram Story, she posted the same cropped “Baddie” hoodie worn by Lucia, the game’s female protagonist, in the Grand Theft Auto VI trailer.
That wardrobe clue stopped short of confirming what Cardi’s role might be, but her new announcement has now established that she is contributing music to the project’s album.
“Don’t Chart” is Cardi’s second single of 2026. It follows “AH HA,” which arrived in July and went on to reach No. 25 on the Hot 100. The earlier single also climbed to No. 1 on the Rhythmic Airplay chart.
Her latest release takes a knowingly self-referential approach to that chart performance. Even its title becomes part of the punchline, with Cardi predicting in the lyrics that a song called “Don’t Chart” will do exactly the opposite.
A 34-Track Album With a Major Lineup
Cardi is one of several prominent names attached to Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album. The announced cast also includes Travis Scott, Morgan Wallen, Metro Boomin, Future, Yung Lean, Keith Richards, Rauw Alejandro, PinkPantheress and Fuerza Regida.
The full project comprises 34 tracks. The rest of the album is scheduled to arrive alongside GTA VI on Nov. 19.
ShowBiz Take
Cardi B’s addition gives the soundtrack another high-profile contributor while also extending her 2026 singles run beyond “AH HA.” Rather than treating “Don’t Chart” solely as a tie-in, she has built the song around the bold persona and chart-focused wordplay highlighted in its lyrics.
The reveal also turns Cardi’s earlier Instagram post into a more meaningful teaser. The “Baddie” hoodie connected her visually to Lucia before fans knew that connection would lead to a place on the game’s album.
Most notably, “Don’t Chart” arrives ahead of the complete soundtrack rather than being held until the wider Nov. 19 release. That gives Cardi’s contribution its own moment before listeners hear it within the full 34-track collection.
What Happens Next?
The next confirmed step is the release of the remaining Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album tracks on Nov. 19, timed with the arrival of GTA VI. Until then, “Don’t Chart” offers the first full look at Cardi B’s contribution to the project—and gives her chart prediction a chance to be tested.
