Bravo is keeping two of its spinoffs on the schedule, renewing In the City for a second season and Southern Hospitality for Season 5.

The announcements arrive as the network gathers fans for Bravo Fan Fest: Charleston this weekend. While both shows are officially returning, key questions remain about who will appear when their new seasons begin.

In the City earns a second season

The Summer House spinoff heads into Season 2 after delivering an early ratings success last summer. The freshman series ranked among Bravo’s three most-watched new shows of the past five years, averaging 2 million total viewers across platforms within seven days.

In the City centers on a group of New Yorkers facing major personal turning points, including marriage, separation, parenthood and reinvention. Its larger focus is how longtime connections change as the group grows older without necessarily growing apart.

Season 1 featured Kyle Cooke, Lindsay Hubbard, Amanda Batula, Danielle Olivera, Eoin Heavey, Andrea Denver, Lexi Sundin, Nick Barber, Yvonne Najor, Georgina Ferzil, Whitney Fransway, Kenny Martin, Gavin Moseley and Katie Arundel.

The series also found itself responding to major developments involving its cast before it had even premiered. Interest rose after Batula and Summer House co-star West Wilson acknowledged that they were in a relationship.

Batula had been married to Cooke, and In the City had originally been expected to document the couple’s marital difficulties. Once viewers knew Batula was with Wilson, that version of the storyline no longer reflected what was unfolding publicly. Bravo filmed additional scenes so the spinoff could account for events happening in real time.

The network has not yet confirmed the cast for Season 2, including whether Batula will return.

In the City is produced by Truly Original, a Banijay America company. Steven Weinstock, Glenda Hersh, Lauren Eskelin, Jamie Jakimo, Nathan Palmer, Faith Gaskins and Maggie Langtry serve as executive producers.

Southern Hospitality moves forward without Leva Bonaparte

Bravo is also ordering a fifth season of Southern Hospitality, which follows a close circle of friends working to establish themselves in Charleston, South Carolina’s hospitality scene. The show tracks their professional ambitions alongside shifting friendships, romances and life away from work.

The series began as a Southern Charm spinoff built around Leva Bonaparte and her management of employees across her King Street establishments. The new season, however, will mark a significant change: Bonaparte will no longer be part of the show following what appears to have been a fallout involving her and members of the cast.

Bonaparte had been confirmed for Bravo Fan Fest in Charleston but said on Threads that she would not attend the event in her hometown.

“I’m moving on to a new chapter of my life. Appreciated my time there, but it’s no longer serving me. New projects on the horizon,” she wrote.

Despite her departure from the series, Bravo continues to list Bonaparte and her husband, Lamar, as executive producers for Season 5. The extent of her involvement behind the scenes remains unclear.

Southern Hospitality is produced by Haymaker East, with Aaron Rothman, Josh Halpert and Jesse Light serving as executive producers.

ShowBiz Take

These renewals preserve two different extensions of established Bravo shows while setting up markedly different next chapters.

In the City enters its sophomore run with a strong ratings foundation, but its biggest casting question concerns one of the personal developments that drove attention around the first season. Confirmation of Batula’s participation—or absence—will help determine how closely Season 2 remains connected to the relationship upheaval that reshaped the debut.

Southern Hospitality, meanwhile, has secured a fifth season while preparing to continue without the person around whom the series was originally structured. Bonaparte’s ongoing executive-producer credit creates another layer of uncertainty, particularly because Bravo has not clarified how active she will be in that role.

What Happens Next?

Bravo has confirmed both renewals but has not announced the In the City Season 2 cast. Viewers are also waiting for further clarity about the ensemble moving forward without Bonaparte on Southern Hospitality, as well as the nature of her credited involvement as an executive producer.
