Emma Roberts just cosigned fashion’s favorite footwear—in the most cool-girl way. Giving the classic graphic tee-and-jeans combo an extra something special for yesterday’s Los Angeles coffee run, she accessorized her ’80s Grand Prix T-shirt and high-waisted denim with an off-kilter pair of Tabi slingbacks. And they were a far cry from the house’s typical It girl-approved split-toe boots and black leather ballerinas.
The suede slingback ballerinas, designed with Maison Margiela’s signature split-toe shape and an asymmetrical silhouette, featured an all-over floral print in shades of cream and sky blue. The pattern, dreamed up for the house’s Artisanal line, drew inspiration from 17th-century still-life paintings, with a sun-faded look that gave the funky modern shoe a vintage touch.
The smooth shape of the flats provided the perfect contrast to the frayed hem of Roberts’s jeans, and the shoes just so happened to perfectly frame the actor’s little foot tattoo, which she previously got to commemorate her love for all things creepy dolls. The symbol, the Mattel logo, celebrated her growing collection—which features a ton of Barbies, in addition to vintage Blythe and Dollikin dolls. “The creepier the better,” she told James Corden back in 2023.
For an extra pop of print, Roberts carried a leopard handbag on her left arm (and showed off her new wedding ring as she did so). She added a pair of round sunglasses and a thin black belt to finish off the comfy, funky summer look, and made her way to her car—stopping for photos with fans on the way.
