Nate Bargatze is returning to Netflix with “Good for Nathan,” his fourth stand-up hour for the streaming service. The special will debut Nov. 24.
The Grammy-winning comedian filmed the new hour in Fort Worth, Texas, with director Ryan Polito. Bargatze previously performed the same material during the Netflix Is a Joke Festival, held in Los Angeles in May.
Netflix’s logline bills Bargatze as “the beloved master of the deadpan story” and previews a set that tackles fitness tractors, smart stoves and the appeal of food delivery, among other subjects.
A Fourth Netflix Stand-Up Special
“Good for Nathan” expands Bargatze’s existing run of Netflix releases. His earlier specials for the platform are “The Tennessee Kid,” released in 2019; “The Greatest Average American,” which followed in 2021; and 2024’s “Your Friend, Nate Bargatze.”
His stand-up catalog also includes the 2015 Comedy Central special “Full Time Magic” and 2023’s “Hello World” for Amazon Prime Video.
Bargatze serves as an executive producer on “Good for Nathan” alongside Alex Murray, Tim Sarkes and John Irwin. The special was produced through the comedian’s Nateland Entertainment banner.
The Nov. 24 premiere follows a major milestone for Bargatze’s live career. A few months before the special’s arrival, he broke the Guinness World Record for the most tickets sold on a stand-up comedy tour, surpassing the record previously held by Jeff Dunham.
Bargatze’s Big Dumb Eyes Tour sold 2,045,040 tickets over approximately a year and a half. His clean, deadpan approach has connected with audiences across generations, and he is currently the world’s highest-earning comedian.
Beyond the Stand-Up Stage
“Good for Nathan” arrives amid a wide range of television and film work for Bargatze. He hosted the Emmy Awards on CBS in 2025 and hosts ABC’s comedy game show “The Greatest Average American.” He has also become a fan-favorite host of “Saturday Night Live.”
Earlier this year, Bargatze appeared on the big screen in the family-friendly theatrical comedy “The Breadwinner.” The film’s cast also included Mandy Moore, Colin Jost, Will Forte and Kumail Nanjiani.
His latest Netflix hour adds another chapter to a stand-up career that earned him recognition as one of Variety’s 10 Comics to Watch in 2015. Rather than moving away from the understated storytelling associated with his comedy, the new special’s logline indicates that “Good for Nathan” will continue applying that perspective to familiar parts of everyday life and technology.
ShowBiz Take
“Good for Nathan” is significant not simply because it gives Bargatze another stand-up release. It will be his fourth Netflix hour, arriving after a tour that set a Guinness World Record and sold more than 2 million tickets. That combination underscores the scale of his current live audience while extending his relationship with the streamer.
The special also keeps stand-up at the center of an increasingly varied slate. Bargatze’s recent work has included an awards-show hosting assignment, a network game show, appearances on “Saturday Night Live” and a theatrical comedy. With “Good for Nathan,” he returns to the format that has already produced specials across Netflix, Comedy Central and Amazon Prime Video.
What Happens Next?
“Good for Nathan” premieres Nov. 24 on Netflix. Viewers can expect Bargatze’s latest deadpan observations to cover subjects including fitness tractors, smart stoves and food delivery, drawn from the set he performed at the Netflix Is a Joke Festival in May.
