Charlie Sheen is returning to television as a series regular alongside his father, Martin Sheen, in “Happy Jack,” a new multi-camera comedy ordered by AMC.

The real-life father and son will also play father and son in the six-episode first season. Production is scheduled to begin in early 2027, with the series expected to premiere later that year.

“Happy Jack” will be filmed before a live studio audience at Warner Bros. Studios, the same studio where Charlie Sheen previously shot “Two and a Half Men.”

Charlie Sheen leads the comedy as Jack Chambers, described in the official logline as “a lifelong ne’er-do-well.” Jack has two adult daughters, although his own father, played by Martin Sheen, is said to deserve more of the credit for how they turned out.

The story puts Jack at a crossroads when his daughter Sam returns home with a new boyfriend who is Jack’s age. The boyfriend has traded a career as an investment banker for life as a van-life guru, forcing Jack to choose between continuing to put himself first and embracing what could be his final opportunity to become a meaningful part of his daughters’ lives.

The project also brings Charlie Sheen back together with several members of the “Two and a Half Men” creative team. Jim Patterson and Matt Ross will serve as co-showrunners and executive producers.

Sheen is also executive-producing with Todd Christopher, Eric and Kim Tannenbaum, and Jason Wang. Eric and Kim Tannenbaum previously served as executive producers on “Two and a Half Men.”

“Icebreaker” Adds Six Series Regulars

Netflix’s “Icebreaker” has expanded its ensemble with six additional series regulars for the college romance drama based on Hannah Grace’s novel of the same name.

Gabriel Tierney, whose credits include “Rivals,” will play Aaron, while “Moana” performer Auliʻi Cravalho has been cast as Lola. Newcomer and professional athlete Peter Berry will portray Robbie.

The newly announced lineup also includes “Sex Education” actor Chaneil Kular as JJ, “The Sex Lives of College Girls” actor Devin Craig as Henry and “Heated Rivalry” actor Aidan Shaw as Russ.

They join previously announced leads Daisy Jelley and Connor Simos. Jelley will play Anastasia “Stassie” Allen, with Simos appearing as Nate Hawkins.

Tom Hollander Joins “The Audacity”

AMC’s “The Audacity” has recruited Tom Hollander for a recurring role in its second season, which is currently in production.

The “FEUD: Capote vs. The Swans” actor will play Big Tim, a powerful technology billionaire and the CEO of Cupertino. Although the character maintains a carefully constructed public image, that persona conceals a relentless desire for control and revenge.

Season 2 of “The Audacity” is expected to premiere in 2027.

“Saturday Night Live UK” Sets Its Next Hosts

“Saturday Night Live UK,” which is available in the United States on Peacock, has lined up Danny Dyer, James Norton and Cynthia Erivo as its next three hosts.

Dyer, who appears in “Rivals,” will host the October 10 installment with Sasha Keable serving as musical guest. “House of the Dragon” actor Norton will follow on October 17, joined by musical guest the Streets.

Erivo, whose credits include “Wicked,” will take the hosting duties on October 24. Blossoms will appear as the episode’s musical guest.

What Happens Next?

Production on “Happy Jack” is slated to get underway in early 2027 before its planned AMC premiere later in the year. “The Audacity” is also targeting a 2027 return, while “Saturday Night Live UK” will roll out its newly announced host and musical-guest pairings across three consecutive October broadcasts.
