Another day, another round of looks for The Odyssey press tour! And this time, Zendaya and Law Roach went for something unexpected. Working with Nicolas Ghesquière and the house of Louis Vuitton for a Paris premiere look, the team married (no pun intended) the actor’s newlywed style with her latest bout of method dressing.

Throughout the press tour for The Odyssey, which kicked off in London on Sunday, July 5—only five days ago—and has already seen half a dozen looks from the star, Zendaya has leaned into her character of Athena. Embracing her inner goddess of war and wisdom, she has turned to both the fluid drapery of traditional Grecian garments and powerful, armor-like couture. Always an advocate for a bit of method dressing, she has transformed into the heroine with help from Jacquemus, Schiaparelli, and Givenchy. But now, she’s bringing a bit of her own life into the equation.

Her custom Louis Vuitton ensemble was designed as a two-piece look. The outer layer, which was later shed, was a voluminous, cropped jacket with dramatic over-the-top ruffles almost hiding the dainty lace sleeves. As Zendaya posed, she played with the trim, using it as a shield and shrugging it off her shoulders to tease the dress underneath.

The dress itself was a lingerie-inspired maxi, crafted from delicate lace with floral motifs and scalloped edges. A prominent central cutout and thigh-high slit up one leg added a bit of risqué drama to the piece, differentiating it from the actor’s typical premiere style. (It read more, perhaps, like a continuation of her bridal dressing—which coincided with the news of her marriage to Tom Holland.)

Of course, the full look wouldn’t be complete without a goddess-like braid, or a decadent, geometric necklace. This piece of jewelry, courtesy of Messika, framed a central tanzanite stone, bringing out Zendaya’s blue eye shadow.
