Since 2018, Garner has been in an on-again, off-again relationship with businessman John Miller, keeping their romance largely out of the public eye.
Prior to Miller, Garner’s last public relationship was with her ex-husband, Ben Affleck, whom she separated from in 2015 before they finalized their divorce in 2018. Affleck later married his former flame, Jennifer Lopez, but the two divorced in 2024.

Born in Los Angeles in 1978, Miller is an attorney and entrepreneur who currently serves as the chairman of Cali Group, a restaurant technology company that owns CaliBurger, a global fast-food chain often seen as a rival to In-N-Out Burger. He is also the CEO of PopID, a tech company that specializes in facial-recognition payment systems. Before launching his ventures, Miller served as vice president of intellectual property at Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals from 2004 to 2010.
In addition to his business pursuits, Miller co-authored the 2008 book The Handbook of Nanotechnology: Business, Policy, and Intellectual Property Law alongside Ruben Serrato, Jose Miguel Represas-Cardenas, and Griffith Kundahl, and he also served as managing editor of the journal Nanotechnology Law & Business.
He attended Stanford University.
Prior to his career, Miller graduated from Stanford Law, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif Honor Society. He then joined the California Bar in the Northern District of California.
He was previously married to violinist Caroline Campbell.
Before his relationship with Garner, Miller was married to acclaimed violinist Caroline Campbell. The couple wed in 2005 and share two children, Violet and Quest. They filed for divorce in 2014 and finalized their split four years later, in 2018.

Garner and Miller reportedly began dating in 2018, making their first public appearance together that November while attending the musical Dear Evan Hansen in Los Angeles.

After some time apart, Garner and Miller found their way back to each other, quietly rekindling their romance in May 2021. They were later spotted together again in New York City that August.
They sparked engagement rumors in 2024.
Engagement rumors began swirling in December 2024 when Garner was spotted wearing a diamond ring on her left hand. The images saw her driving while wearing the gold band with a big diamond at the center. Neither Garner nor Miller commented on the matter.
He’s “respectful” of Jennifer’s relationship with ex-husband Ben.
Miller has also reportedly developed a respectful relationship with Garner’s ex-husband, Ben Affleck, as the former spouses continue to co-parent their three children. In 2023, a source told Us Weekly, “Ben is super down-to-earth, and so is John. They have a mutual respect for each other and are always very friendly with one another.”
That dynamic appears to have only strengthened over time. Two years later, a source told People: “John has also embraced Jen’s family life. He’s been patient, supportive and deeply respectful of her dynamic with Ben and the kids.”
According to the same source, Miller and Garner’s relationship is stronger than ever. “They’ve hit a stride as a couple,” the insider said, adding that those close to them believe “this is the most solid and connected they’ve ever been.”
