Warner Bros. Discovery and ITV have unveiled a first-of-its-kind content partnership that will bring 2,000 hours of programming from WBD-owned TLC and Quest to ITVX.
The agreement marks WBD international’s first announced move since completion of the $110 billion Paramount-Warner Bros. Discovery merger. The programming will be presented through dedicated TLC and Quest-branded collections on ITV’s streaming platform.
The TLC collection launches with the first seasons of Mock the Week, The Bad Skin Clinic and Dr. Pimple Popper. Season 2 of Mock the Week, described as one of TLC’s biggest shows, will arrive on ITVX next year after it has aired.
More comedy programming is also scheduled to be added to the platform through 2027, expanding the partnership beyond its initial selection.
Quest Collection Set to Follow
ITVX will broaden the WBD offering in the coming months with the launch of a separate Quest-branded collection.
That lineup will feature titles from the Salvage Hunters and Shed & Buried franchises, as well as Vinnie Jones in the Country and Richard Hammond’s Workshop.
Together, the two collections will give ITVX a mix of comedy, reality programming and Quest titles drawn from WBD’s portfolio. The arrangement also gives the individual TLC and Quest brands a dedicated presence within the streaming service rather than placing the shows into one general collection.
Graham Lafferty, WBD’s SVP Content Strategy & Networks, highlighted the range of programming covered by the deal, including another comedy title fronted by Ed Gamble.
“The combination of TLC’s local comedy originals and global reality franchises brings something to the platform for every user, whether it’s the return of Mock the Week, brand-new Unacceptable hosted by Ed Gamble, or some of our hugely successful global franchises,” Lafferty said.
A New Partnership During a Period of Change
The ITV agreement arrives as attention turns to the future structure of Paramount and WBD’s international operations following the completion of their merger.
The partnership also comes amid repeated calls for UK networks to consolidate and pursue more content-sharing arrangements. ITV already has a content-swapping agreement with Disney+.
Another leadership development preceded the WBD-ITV announcement by a day: Ynon Kreiz became co-CEO of the soon-to-expand media company. Kreiz previously led Endemol Group and Fox Kids Europe.
What Happens Next?
The initial TLC titles are available as part of the launch, while ITVX’s Quest-branded collection will be introduced over the coming months. Mock the Week Season 2 is due to join the platform next year after airing, and further comedy additions are planned through 2027.
Beyond those confirmed releases, the longer-term shape of Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery’s international outposts remains the subject of speculation as the newly completed merger settles in.
