2 min readAfter nearly a year-long engagement and months of Madison Square Garden-versus-Rhode Island speculation, the weekend for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding has officially arrived. And it’s kicking off tonight.
In fresh information told to ABC News, the festivities have been confirmed to begin this evening, on July 2. Held at MSG, the celebration—likely a rehearsal dinner or perhaps the wedding ceremony—will kick off around 6 p.m. ET and host approximately 100 guests.
According to ABC’s source, the couple’s main 1,000-person function will take place the next day, Friday, with a 4 p.m. ET cocktail hour that will stretch into the early hours of Saturday morning. Both events have issued a strict no-phone policy for everyone in attendance, including guests, vendors, and security.
The weekend comes three years after Swift and Kelce’s initial meet-cute, when the NFL player famously shot his shot on his New Heights podcast after attending the Eras Tour in his home of Kansas City.
Last week, the city approved a permit to close off the surrounding area—shutting down parts of West 31st and West 33rd streets to traffic and pedestrians. Since then, police personnel, venue officials, and even workers dressed in “Taylor Swift Carpenters” T-shirts have been spotted loading equipment into the arena. (Several boxes were labeled “Garden Party,” and there have been reports that the inside will be decorated like a castle.)
A red carpet was also briefly rolled out, though it was dismantled shortly after. In the news outlet’s report, ABC also confirmed that tents will be set up around the arena for increased privacy, shielding the guests from public view as they make their entrances.
But of course, we won’t truly know anything for sure until Swift and Kelce want us to.
