1 min readPrince William and Princess Kate’s eldest son is growing up! In a new video shared to the royal couple’s official Instagram account, Prince George joined his mother in honoring Armed Forces Day—and looked nearly as tall as her.
For the rare mother-son outing, the duo spent time at the Royal Air Force (RAF) Coningsby’s Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, a unit maintaining and flying World War II-era aircrafts. Both took turns sitting in the cockpit, and the young royal looked right at home as a pilot.
Kate, who has served as the Royal Honorary Air Commodore of RAF Coningsby since August 2023, wore a double-breasted plaid blazer for the occasion. She layered the piece over a white top and black trousers, and stepped out in chocolate-brown loafers. Next to her, George donned a navy-blue suit and brown shoes of his own.
In the post, the princess reflected on “learning about the extraordinary history of these aircraft and meeting the pilots and engineers who keep their legacy alive,” calling the experience “a powerful reminder of the courage, skill and dedication of those who serve, past and present.”
“Thank you to all those who have served and continue to serve,” she added. Princess Charlotte, age 11, and Prince Louis, 8, sat this trip out.
It was recently announced that George, who will turn 13 next month, is following in his father’s footsteps and heading to Eton College in the fall. In addition to William, Prince Harry also attended the historic school.
