Lady Gaga has entered a new chapter: motherhood.
The Grammy and Oscar winner has welcomed her first child with fiancé Michael Polansky, with sources confirming the news to People and Page Six. Page Six was first to report the arrival.
No additional details about the baby were included in the supplied reports. The Hollywood Reporter said it reached out to representatives for Gaga but did not immediately receive a response.
The news marks a major personal milestone for Gaga and Polansky, who became engaged in April 2024. Gaga later opened up about the proposal during an October 2024 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, where she described realizing that her birthday had passed without a proposal and wondering whether Polansky had planned to ask.
“He proposed to me right after my birthday, so my birthday passed and I was like, ‘Oh, I thought he was going to propose,’” she told Jimmy Kimmel.
A proposal story Gaga shared herself
During that same Jimmy Kimmel Live! appearance, Gaga explained that the couple had gone on a rock climbing trip when Polansky surprised her. According to Gaga, the two climbed to the top, took in the view, snapped photos and then headed back down.
“We climbed to the top, we looked around, took some photos. And then went back down and we were just walking back to the room, talking,” Gaga said. “And he actually — it was very Michael — he asked me if he could ask me. He wanted to know if it was OK to propose before he proposed. And I was like, ‘Yes, it’s so OK!’”
Gaga’s comments at the time offered a rare public glimpse into the couple’s relationship, which has also extended into her professional world.
Their creative collaboration
Polansky, an entrepreneur, has worked with Gaga on music projects. He is credited as a writer on her 2025 Grammy-winning record Mayhem. He is also listed as a writer on “Glamorous Life,” a song from The Devil Wears Prada 2 soundtrack.
Gaga also made a cameo in The Devil Wears Prada 2, according to the supplied source material.
The couple’s personal news also follows Gaga’s own public comments about wanting to become a parent. During a 2025 appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, she was asked about what she wanted next and said she hoped motherhood would be part of her future.
“I would like to do many things,” Gaga said. “What I really want is to be a mom. That’s my next starring role, I hope.”
With the arrival of her first child with Polansky, that hoped-for role has now become real.
