A new Kaia Gerber look is new proof that minimalism can be endlessly interesting and inspiring. Just take a glance at her latest ensemble.

On Tuesday, the model stepped out in New York City’s Lower East Side while in a slinky black silk slipdress. The piece featured barely-there spaghetti straps and fell down to Gerber’s shins.

Keeping things classic, she slipped on a pair of black peep-toe heels, which revealed her beige pedicure, and black elongated sunglasses with light lenses.

The most chic part of her look, however, was her breezy white scarf, which she wrapped around her neck, leaving the ends to fall on her back. The ultra-glam styling trick is one that has been perfected by our favorite It girls this year, including Kendall Jenner, who styled her shawl in the same way at Milan Fashion Week in February.

The perfect cherry on top of the perfect minimalist look? Gerber’s messy low bun with wavy strands left down to frame her face.

The former Harper’s Bazaar cover star is currently promoting her upcoming 1980s teen thriller series The Shards, created by Ryan Murphy and based on the novel by Bret Easton Ellis. Gerber plays Susan Reynolds in the show: a wealthy high school student at an elite Los Angeles prep school, and a close friend of the protagonist, Bret, played by Igby Rigney.

And while we are certainly in the midst of a method-dressing era, Gerber is not one for all that; instead, she has remained loyal to her effortlessly-sophisticated wardrobe, and we thank her for it.
