Bruno Mars has turned a viral concert moment involving Drake and Karol G into a playful declaration that he intends to win back his “latina crush.”

The Grammy-winning superstar reacted after seeing footage of Drake dancing with Karol G during her Houston show on Sunday, Sept. 27. Drake made a surprise guest appearance at Reliant Stadium, joining the Colombian singer onstage before sticking around for several songs.

Mars addressed the moment on Instagram the following day, posting a photo of himself aboard a private jet and staring through the window at the clouds.

“When you see Drake dancing with your latina crush in 4k @karolg @champagnepapi Respond to me asap,” Mars jokingly wrote. “I have to get her back! I must get her back! I will get her back!”

The post quickly prompted fans to offer their own solutions. One commenter proposed that Mars, Drake and Karol G settle the matter by recording together.

“I think you should solve this on a new song, the three of you together,” the fan wrote.

Another commenter suggested Mars was now experiencing what his own admirers have felt while watching him perform for others.

“So now you know how it feels when your crush is serenading other Angel Babies right in front of you? Welcome to the club, Bruninho,” the fan added.

The concert moment that caught Bruno Mars’ attention

Drake’s unexpected arrival sent the Houston crowd into a frenzy as he and Karol G performed their collaboration “Ahí.” The track reached No. 44 on the Hot 100 and topped the Hot Latin Songs chart in August.

Drake also performed his chart-topping hit “Janice STFU” and his 2016 song “One Dance.” It was during “One Dance” that Karol G danced with him onstage, creating the clip that subsequently spread across social media and drew Mars’ teasing response.

Mars has his own musical connection with Karol G. He appears on her album No Me Arrepiento de Sentir Tanto, joining her for the synth-pop track “Still.” The all-English collaboration reached No. 41 on the Hot 100.

The pair also brought the song to the stage during Karol G’s Aug. 15 show at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. Mars appeared as a guest for the live debut of “Still,” and they also performed “Risk It All,” the opening track from his The Romatic.

Karol G previously explained how closely “Still” matched what she was experiencing when she made the song.

“It expressed exactly what I was feeling and how I was feeling it; it was literally perfect for what I was going through, and I listened to it constantly,” she said. “I tried to overthink it, but it was perfect—I hope it touches many people’s hearts.”

She also praised Mars’ contribution, adding: “Thank you, Bruno Mars, for the magic in this song and for feeling it the way I did. You’re incredible.”

No Me Arrepiento de Sentir Tanto arrived on Aug. 7 and debuted at No. 8 on the 200 albums chart. With both Mars and Drake featured among Karol G’s recent collaborators—and both having now joined her onstage—the viral Houston dance gave Mars an opening to have some fun with their shared musical history.

For now, his emphatic Instagram promise remains clear: He “will get her back.”
