Since marrying in 2005, the couple has raised a family of four daughters, who occasionally step into the spotlight alongside their parents—including most recently at The Odyssey’s London premiere in July.
When Matt met his future wife in 2003, she was bartending at a Miami bar while he was in town filming Stuck on You. Luciana was already the mother of a four-year-old daughter, Alexia, and initially assumed that would discourage the actor from pursuing a relationship with her. Instead, he embraced becoming a stepfather from the very beginning. “I jumped into the deep end with Lucy,” he told Parade in 2011. “I mean, Alexia was already four. I was an extra dad.”
After tying the knot, the couple welcomed three daughters together: Isabella, Gia, and Stella. Matt has even honored his wife and four kids with tattoos of all their names.
While their eldest made a brief appearance in one of the actor’s films, it’s still unclear whether any of the girls will follow in their dad’s footsteps into Hollywood.

Alexia Barroso

Alexia Barroso is Luciana’s eldest daughter from her previous marriage to Arbello Barroso. Born in Argentina in 1999, Alexia was just four years old when Matt met her mother in 2003. Luciana later recalled to Vogue Australia that after their first meeting, she turned down Damon’s invitation to join him and his friends because she needed to get home to her daughter.
“I was like, ‘I can’t. I have a four-year-old daughter. I’m not going anywhere,’” she said. But the actor admired that being a mom was her priority. “That was one of the things he loved,” she said. “Some guys might have been different… but for him it wasn’t.”
Matt has often spoken about embracing his role as Alexia’s stepfather from the very beginning, calling himself “an extra dad.” In 2011, he told Parade, “I jumped into the deep end with Lucy. I mean, Alexia was already four.”

Though Alexia has largely stayed out of the spotlight, she made a brief cameo in Matt’s 2011 film We Bought a Zoo. While promoting The Odyssey, he revealed that his stepdaughter is now working in cinematography. “She’s done about 12 movies,” the actor told E! News. “She’s worked on the camera team all over the world.”
Her Instagram showcases her passion for photography, as she frequently shares portraits she’s taken, including several of Matt and her sisters. According to her website, she’s a New York-based photographer with a focus on fashion, portraits, and nature photography.
Isabella Damon

One year after tying the knot, Matt and Luciana welcomed their first child together, Isabella Damon, on June 11, 2006. Isabella has occasionally accompanied her parents to red carpet events over the years, most recently joining them at The Odyssey’s New York premiere in July 2026.
Though Isabella has largely stayed out of the spotlight so far, Matt has shared sweet stories about their father-daughter relationship. During a 2021 appearance on E! News, the actor joked that then-15-year-old Isabella was his toughest (and funniest) critic, refusing to watch his movies if they received positive reviews. “If the reviews come out and they’re terrible, then she’ll watch it,” he said. “If they come out and they’re good, she’s going to pass…. She’s looking for ammunition all the time. She’s like one of the funniest people I’ve ever met. She’s really cool.”
That same year, Matt revealed in an interview with Tara Hitchcock that Isabella was a devoted Harry Styles fan and that he and Luciana surprised her with the ultimate Christmas gift: a personalized video message from the singer. He recalled, “Last Christmas… We gave my 15-year-old a life-size cardboard cutout of Harry Styles. Harry Styles did a little video and said, ‘Hello’ to her, and she lost her mind. I think that was the best we’ve done so far. I don’t know how we’ll top it.”
In 2024, Isabella graduated from high school and enrolled in New York University. At the time, Matt revealed that Isabella heading off to college was a huge adjustment for the family. “We have a 26-year-old, so we’ve been through this once before, but it’s still a major adjustment for us and for her sisters,” he explained to E! News. “It’s a different household with one less person there. So, it’s a big adjustment.”
Gia Damon

Currently 17 years old, Gia Damon is Matt and Luciana’s third daughter and was born in Miami on August 20, 2008. Shortly after Gia’s birth, the actor told People that he was more than happy to be outnumbered at home by girls. “It is really great,” he quipped.
Though Gia has largely stayed out of the public eye, Matt shared a sweet glimpse into their relationship during an appearance on Travis and Jason Kelce’s New Heights podcast in 2026. After Gia recently broke her collarbone, she asked her dad to brush her hair—a task he realized he hadn’t done in nearly a decade.
“I hadn’t brushed her hair [in] I don’t know, eight, nine, years?” he said. Reflecting on how quickly his daughters have grown up, he added, “I don’t remember when I brushed her hair for the last time…The changes are so incremental that you don’t realize.”
Stella Damon
Stella Damon, the youngest daughter of Matt and Luciana, was born on October 20, 2010, in New York City. Not long after her birth, the actor shared an update with People on the changing dynamic of going from three to four kids. “It’s been pretty crazy. The baby came a couple of weeks early. It’s our fourth, so we’ve done it before—but it’s a whole new dynamic,” he said.
Now a high school student, Stella hasn’t spent much time in the spotlight alongside her parents and older sisters—though she has attended a few of her dad’s recent movie premieres. While promoting The Odyssey, Matt was asked whether any of his daughters planned to follow in his acting footsteps. He revealed that his eldest daughter, Alexia, has already begun working as a cinematographer, but he’s not sure about his younger ones, Isabella, Gia, and Stella, yet.
“The other three might [follow me into the family business],” he told E! News. “I have one [daughter] who’s at NYU now, who’s a fantastic writer, so I could see her following me into screenwriting. And we have two still in high school, so we’ll see.”
